MURANO Just like Burano, Murano is an absolute must when visiting Venice. Even if glass art can only be seen in large exhibitions, the masters of glass art give the island of Murano a special force of attraction. Here in the streets of Murano, fantastic sculptures in exciting shapes and colors are created, handcrafted according to the old secrets of the master glassmakers. (e.g. Simone Cenedese) While strolling along the canals we saw many pretty houses and shops and for the lunch break we discovered a great restaurant, Art Cafe and Food, Fondamenta die Vetrai 35A-36. Great food, very good service, they speak German and the prices are somewhat high, but they are in line with the quality.
