April 21, 2025 Day 1 of the trip, Ovada We (my wife Brigitte and I, Hans) set off in our car at 6 a.m. so that we can complete the first stage of the journey from Vienna to Ovada (Italy), covering around 960 km. Apart from a traffic jam before the Brenner Pass, the journey is uneventful. We spend our first night at the beautiful Hotel Belforte in Ovada. 2025 04 22 Day 2 of the trip, L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue After breakfast, we want to continue our planned trip along the Mediterranean coast towards France. But a message from our navigation device forces us to change our plans. Four hours of traffic jams on the Mediterranean route! So we choose a new route: Ovada – Alessandria – Turin – Briançon – Lac de Serre Ponçon – Gap – Sisteron – Avignon to the lovely town of L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. We check in at the Hotel Les Névons with private parking. We stroll along the Sorgue river on the promenade, have dinner in a restaurant by the river (they ONLY speak French!), and end the evening in a very nice bar next to the church.
